At Westminster Church…

…you don’t have to leave your mind at the door.

In other words,

-it’s OK to think.

-it’s OK to not believe just like everyone else.

-it’s OK to not believe everything you used to believe.

-it’s OK to disagree.

-it’s OK to not read the Bible literally.

(“We don’t take the Bible literally.  We take it seriously.”)

-it’s OK to have doubts.

-it’s OK to listen to and learn from people who are different.

Wanted and welcome:  Agnostics, those weary of traditional church formulations, people

from other faiths, and others wanting to think outside the box.

At Westminster we believe in a way of being church where differences of opinion are not

only acceptable, but helpful.  We understand that individuals, groups, even majorities can

be wrong.  In other words, we believe that we need one another--with our different

opinions and understandings--to experience God more fully and serve God more faithfully.

“Come and see,” Jesus said to two men who were observing him from a distance and

wondering what he was about.  (John 1:39)

At Westminster we say, “Come and see.”
