Tabor, a town located in the beautiful Loess Hills, can offer your family the best of both worlds. Tabor has a quick commuting distance to Interstate 29 -- only 30 minutes to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and 40 minutes to Omaha, Nebraska. yet still maintains its small-town charm. Our community enjoys the quick access to the most modern medical and shopping facilities, but Tabor's businesses are alert to metropolitan competition and meet it with excellent merchandising and service.
All of us take pride in a splendid PK-12 school system which appropriately carries the name of Fremont-Mills Community School , since Tabor is shared by those two counties. It includes students from the Tabor, Thurman, Randolph and Bartlett areas. New science labs, a K-12 media center and technology center were completed in 2003.
There are four active churches in Tabor: United Congregational Church, First Christian Church, United Methodist, Weaver Memorial Church of the Nazarene.
Tabor has a very active Historical Society which is dedicated to preserving our rich heritage. There are many other organizations that are active in the betterment of our community.
Tabor has its own public library, medical center, and the state-approved Tabor Manor Care Center. In 2008 we will celebrate the 75th annual Farmers-Merchants Picnic on June 27-28-29-30, 2008. Join us for the fun!
